If you need help connecting to campus wifi networks, getting into your Student Portal account or using your college email, help is only a phone call away. Please send an email to StudentITHelp@northern.on.ca or call 1-866-999-0799 for IT support.

Available from Monday to Friday 8am to 4pm, with extended hours of support even after these times.  We will respond within 24 business hours (Monday – Friday).  Be sure to reach out – we are here to support you!

 

 

Computers and Laptops

Â鶹ËÞÉáµçÊÓ¾ç requires all students to have their own laptop computer. The College’s Bring Your Own Device (BYOD) program is mandatory for all students.

Device Requirements:

Please note that ChromeBooks and other Tablets are not sufficient devices to be able to perform all required tasks as a Â鶹ËÞÉáµçÊÓ¾ç student.

  • Intel I5 or equivalent processor. For Engineering Technology, Intel I7 or equivalent processor
  • Minimum 4GB of RAM. For Engineering Technology, Minimum 12GB of RAM (12-16 GB recommended)
  • Minimum 256 GB HD. For Engineering Technology, Minimum 512 GB HD
  • Minimum of 2 full size USB ports. For Engineering Technology, HDMI port as well.
  • Wireless 802.11ac dual band 2.4 and 5 GHz
  • Built-in webcam and microphone
  • Windows 10 or 11
  • 2 year warranty (optional, but recommended)
  • 4-6 hours of battery life (optional, but recommended)

 

Outdoor Wireless Access

Â鶹ËÞÉáµçÊÓ¾ç provides secure wireless access that extends to several outdoor locations at each campus. Click on your campus link to view or download a map showing where the best wireless connectivity can be found.
